A message from our Chairman, Richard Lane OBE

Bromley Community Fund (BCF) is a charitable Fund where individuals, companies, public and voluntary sector organisations come together to channel their resources and talents to help people in the borough.

BCF is an effective way to give to local causes, and see directly how your giving is making an impact. Your donation is invested carefully in the small community and voluntary sector groups that work ‘under the radar’ to improve life for Bromley’s most in-need.

Donations given to the Bromley Community Fund are invested as an endowed fund with the interest used to make charitable grants year on year. The capital sum is never touched, continues to grow and provides a lasting source of support for charities and community organisations in the years to come.

This is a crucial time for BCF. There is no doubt that small charities and local community organisations across the country will feel the effects of tightening budgets. The shockwaves of the recession will continue to affect those in need. Many tiny, volunteer-led organisations will struggle to keep up with increasing demand for their services in the face of austerity cuts- organisations that exist on small but vital amounts of funding to carry out their work.
