- Surviving Winter is a UK-wide campaign to encourage people to make donations to help vulnerable, older people who struggle to stay warm, happy and healthy at winter.
The campaign was inspired by people who wanted to donate their Winter Fuel Payment from the government to support people less fortunate to themselves.
- This year, we are asking people to join them in supporting the campaign with donations. In particular, we are asking those who can afford to, to donate an amount equal to all or part of their Winter Fuel Payment (or any amount if under 60) to support older people in need.
Community Foundations all over the UK are co-ordinating the campaign. What they collect, thanks to the generosity of the British public, will be targeted directly to help those locally who struggle to stay warm, safe and healthy in winter.
The target is to raise £1 million across the UK. The Bromley Community Fund is co-ordinating the campaign in Bromley, collecting donations and targeting them to support those most in need in the borough. Our target is to raise £20,000 for the borough.
Your donations will go to help older people in Bromley who struggle to stay warm, happy and healthy at winter.
You will support Bromley’s voluntary groups to help vulnerable older people in practical ways. This could involve simply helping older people to get to doctor’s appointments or the shops, or tackling isolation and depression by arranging social activities or starting befriending schemes.
Please donate whatever you can. You donate by sending a cheque along with this form, or donate online by clicking the button below
